EUR/USD : ? ? The euro eased slightly on Thursday, after a three-day rally, as energy prices headed higher amid uncertainty about what will happen in the war in Iran before the new Democratic-controlled US Congress takes office in January.Democrats swept to majorities in the Senate and House of Representatives, spurring gains in US Treasuries and global equities, though doubts remained about whether the new Congress would be as accommodating to the AI sector.Despite the political shift in the US, expectations for the Federal Reserve's interest rate path remained largely intact. Markets are pricing in an 80.7% chance of a rate increase of at least 25 basis points from the Fed at its December meeting, according to CME FedWatch, up from 77.4% in the prior session. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.1258 (Daily high), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.1301(38.2%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.1193(SMA20), a break below could take the pair towards 1.1156(23.6%fib).

GBP/USD: Sterling  initially gained   against   dollar but gave up ground as investors assessed   Bank of England rate decision . The Bank of England raised interest rates for the first time in over three years on Thursday and warned that at least one more increase was likely if the US-Iran conflict continues. The central bank's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted 8-1 to raise rates to 4% from 3.75%, but in contrast to expectations in a Reuters poll, the dissent came not from a policymaker seeking to keep rates on hold but one seeking a bigger hike.Sterling edged up after the decision and was last trading at $1.3477. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.3466(38.2%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.3514(Higher BB).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.3397(50%fib), a break below could take the pair towards1.3341 (61.8%fib).

USD/CAD: The Canadian dollar eased on Thursday as investors awaited Canadian jobs data and assessed the outlook for US policy following the midterm elections.Public anger over Trump's policies and rising living costs linked to the US-Iran war helped Democrats secure control of both chambers of Congress.Dominic LeBlanc, Canada's minister responsible for US trade relations, said on Wednesday that the US midterm election results would not alter Ottawa's approach to trade negotiations with Washington. He added that he would speak with his US counterpart soon.Canada's October employment report, due Friday, is expected to show a gain of 13,600 jobs, while the unemployment rate is forecast to remain steady at 6.5%.. Markets now widely expect the BOJ's next hike to come in December. The yen JPY= rose 0.14% to 158.18 per dollar. The BOJ board also debated neutral rate and market pricing of the BOJ's terminal rate, in a sign of its growing focus on how far the central bank could lift borrowing costs without cooling the economy too much.
