Currency Forecast
EUR/USD : The euro edged lower against the US dollar on Wednesday as investors remained cautious amid escalating anti-government protests in France and mounting concerns over the country's deteriorating fiscal position. The French government said on Tuesday it would deploy additional police and military personnel as part of a large-scale security operation ahead of further protests planned for Saturday, while acknowledging shortcomings in its response to the violence witnessed over the previous weekend.Meanwhile, investors turned their attention to upcoming monetary policy decisions from the US Federal Reserve, European Central Bank and Bank of Japan, which are scheduled to announce their decisions on consecutive days beginning next Wednesday. Markets broadly expect all three central banks to keep interest rates unchanged, leaving investors focused on policymakers' comments and forward guidance for signals about the future direction of monetary policy. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.1255(SMA 20), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.1299(38.2%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.1155(23.6%fib), a break below could take the pair towards 1.1113(Lower BB).
GBP/USD: The pound strengthened against dollar on Wednesday as investors assessed UK inflation data, which showed consumer price growth accelerating more than expected and reinforced expectations of a potential Bank of England interest rate hike in November.According to the Office for National Statistics, annual consumer price inflation rose to 3.5% in September from 3.1% in August. The higher-than-expected reading is likely to intensify calls for additional government support for households in next week's budget, particularly those most affected by rising energy costs. The inflation report comes a week before Finance Minister John Healey's first budget, with markets closely watching for measures to ease pressure on household finances. At the same time, persistent inflationary pressures could strengthen the case for further monetary tightening by the Bank of England, providing support for sterling.. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.3387(Higher BB ), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.3408(50%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.3299(38.2%fib), a break below could take the pair towards1.3257(SMA20).
AUD/USD: The Australian dollar strengthened on Wednesday as investors assessed comments from Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Deputy Governor Andrew Hauser, who acknowledged that tighter monetary policy was having an impact but warned that the inflation outlook had deteriorated significantly, partly due to elevated oil prices.Hauser stressed the importance of preventing inflation expectations from rising as the RBA approaches its November 3 policy meeting, where policymakers will decide whether to deliver a fifth interest rate hike this year. Persistent price pressures and higher energy costs have increased uncertainty over the central bank's monetary policy outlook.Markets raised the probability of a November rate hike to 44%, up from 30% at the start of the week, while the likelihood of a December increase climbed to 64%, reflecting growing expectations of further monetary tightening.Immediate resistance can be seen at 0.7037 (Higher BB), an upside break can trigger rise towards 0.70600(38.2%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 0.6987(38.2%fib), a break below could take the pair towards 0.6976(SMA 20)
USD /JPY : The US dollar edged lower against yen on Wednesday after government data released on Wednesday showed Japan's exports in September.Japan’s exports increased by 16.7% year-on-year in September, according to government data released on Wednesday, supported by robust demand for semiconductors and artificial intelligence-related products.Japan’s exports extended their growth streak to 13 months, after rising 19.3% in August, official data showed. Despite the continued expansion, the latest increase was below economists’ expectations of 20.1%.On the monetary policy front, the Bank of Japan is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged next week before implementing a rate hike in December.Earlier this week, Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda said underlying inflation was approaching the central bank’s 2% target, strengthening expectations of a more hawkish monetary policy stance. Immediate resistance can be seen at 158.71(38.2%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 159.16(Higher BB).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 158.02(SMA 20) a break below could take the pair towards 157.00(Psychological level ).
