Currency Forecast

EUR/USD : The euro edged higher against the US dollar on Friday as the greenback weakened amid fading expectations of a Federal Reserve interest rate hike and lingering concerns over an AI-driven selloff in equity markets.Hotter-than-expected US consumer and producer price data initially unsettled financial markets this week. However, comments from Federal Reserve officials suggesting there was no immediate need for further monetary tightening helped stabilize Treasury yields and reduced support for the dollar.Meanwhile, AI-related stocks suffered sharp losses this week, with concerns spreading into parts of the credit market. Investors have become increasingly wary of heavy investments across the AI supply chain, particularly the risk that data centre operators may struggle to generate sufficient profits in time to service their growing debt burdens. The euro  rose 0.33% to $1.1255 after climbing 0.56%. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.1255(38.2%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.1228(Higher BB).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.1119(SMA20), a break below could take the pair towards 1.11315(23.6%fib).

GBP/USD: The pound climbed to its highest level against the US dollar in more than three weeks on Friday as investors assessed stronger-than-expected UK economic data and the outlook for public finances. Britain’s economy expanded in August, beating forecasts, with a further increase in computer programming activity providing fresh evidence that artificial intelligence is supporting economic growth.Investors remained focused on the Bank of England’s interest rate outlook amid concerns that rising bond yields could weigh on economic activity and add to pressure on public finances. Markets are pricing in a 25-basis-point interest rate hike at the BoE’s next meeting on November 5.BoE Governor Andrew Bailey said on Friday that higher energy prices had so far had limited spillover effects on broader UK inflation. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.3336(Higher BB ), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.3408(50%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.3293(38.2%fib), a break below could take the pair towards1.3259(SMA20).

AUD/USD: The Australian dollar strengthened on Friday as investors assessed an uncertain global economic and financial outlook. Australian equities rebounded as fears of a broader global market sell-off eased temporarily, providing support to risk-sensitive currencies such as the Aussie. However, concerns over the sustainability of the artificial intelligence investment boom continued to weigh on sentiment. Reports of a sharp reduction in Anthropic’s projected IPO valuation added to uncertainty surrounding technology sector valuations and the outlook for AI-related investments.Looking ahead, investors will focus on comments from Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Assistant Governor for Financial Markets Christopher Kent, who is scheduled to participate in an interview on Sunday. His remarks could provide further insight into financial market conditions and the central bank’s assessment of the economic outlook. Immediate resistance can be seen at 0.6963 (38.2%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 0.6990(Higher BB).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 0.6876(23.6%fib), a break below could take the pair towards 0.6853(Lower BB)

USD /JPY : The US dollar edged lower against the Japanese yen on Friday as traders remained cautious amid the risk of Japanese authorities intervening to support the currency.Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said on Thursday that authorities must closely monitor exchange-rate movements, urging her G20 counterparts to remain highly vigilant about currency fluctuations. G20 finance leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to exchange-rate policy during meetings held on the sidelines of the IMF’s annual meetings in Bangkok. The yen’s persistent weakness has heightened concerns over potential intervention, particularly as rising fuel prices linked to the Middle East conflict increase Japan’s import costs and add pressure on the economy. Immediate resistance can be seen at 158.56(38.2%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 159.03(Higher BB).On the downside, immediate support is seen at  156.77(Lower BB) a break below could take the pair towards 156.28(61.8%fib).
