Currency Forecast

EUR/USD : The euro languished near a 17-month low on Tuesday, weighed down by political uncertainty and fiscal concerns across the euro zone. The common currency has come under pressure due to worries about high debt levels and political gridlock in France, with an upcoming snap election in Spain adding to headwinds. The French government is seeking to enact an unpopular 2027 budget to lower its deficit and contain its record-high debt load, a tall order in a deeply divided ‌parliament as political factions position ahead of next year's presidential election.Inflation already rising on soaring energy costs and higher yields increasing household and corporate borrowing costs, further euro weakening could leave the European Central Bank caught between fighting inflation and calming bond markets. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.1261(Daily high), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.1289(38.2%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.1188(Lower BB), a break below could take the pair towards 1.1171(23.6%fib).

GBP/USD: The pound edged higher  on Tuesday as market attention tuned to the UK September construction PMI, due at 0830 GMT. The index is expected to remain in contraction territory at 44.8. A weaker-than-expected reading could weigh further on sterling by raising concerns over the UK’s growth outlook, while a stronger result may provide some support to the pound. US 10- and 30-year Treasury yields hit fresh 24-year highs overnight, capping a steady climb since mid-August driven by inflation and debt concerns. An ISM survey showed a measure of prices paid by services businesses for inputs jumped to the highest level in more than four years.  Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.3215(Daily high), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.3299(38.2%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.3165(23.6%fib), a break below could take the pair towards1.3111 (Lower BB).

AUD/USD: The Australian dollar edged lower on Tuesday  as trading remained subdued due to  reduced liquidity and limited broader market activity across Asian currencies. Broader currency sentiment also remained cautious as concerns over France's fiscal position and rising debt costs weighed on the euro, while a generally negative tone across global bond markets continued to support demand for the U.S. dollar.Markets will   focus on U.S. August international trade data due Tuesday. A Reuters poll expects the trade deficit to widen to around $102.0 billion. A larger-than-expected deficit could have implications for U.S. growth expectations and dollar sentiment.Meanwhile, Australian consumer sentiment deteriorated sharply in October, according to the latest Westpac survey. The Consumer Sentiment Index dropped 4.7% to 80.4 points, Westpac Banking Corp. said in a statement on Tuesday.Immediate resistance can be seen at 0.6971(38.2%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 0.7027(50%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 0.6912 (23.6%fib), a break below could take the pair towards 0.6898(Lower BB)

USD /JPY : The U.S. dollar edged higher against the yen on Tuesday as investors continued to assess the interest-rate differential between the U.S. and Japan. The Japan-U.S. government bond yield differential remains elevated despite easing from recent highs. The still-wide spread continues to favour the U.S. dollar over the yen, providing support to USD/JPY and keeping the pair near the upper end of its recent trading range.Meanwhile, Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda said on Tuesday that it was becoming increasingly important to keep underlying inflation anchored around the central bank’s 2% target, signalling that the BOJ remains prepared to raise interest rates further if needed to contain the risk of persistent inflation. He also warned of the risk of underlying inflation overshooting the BOJ's target due to price pressures from the US-Israeli war on Iran, strong AI-related demand and the weak yen. Immediate resistance can be seen at 158.00(Psychological level), an upside break can trigger rise towards 158.48(50%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at  156.46(SMA 20) a break below could take the pair towards 156.13(61.8%fib).
