EUR/USD : The euro edged lower against dollar on Tuesday as renewed Gulf attacks left investors cautious.U.S. President Donald Trump threatened further strikes against Iran after the first exchange of direct attacks in a month as the six-month-long conflict shows no signs of ending.The attacks sent Brent crude futures LCOc1 above $91 a barrel and spurred a bond selloff. The yield on 10-year Treasury notes US10YT=RR hit its highest since January 2025 while the 10-year Japanese government bond yield touched 3% for the first time in 30 years.. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.1680(38.2%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.1734(Higher BB).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.1636(Daily low), a break below could take the pair towards 1.1585(38.2%fib).
GBP/USD: Sterling edged lower against the dollar on Tuesday awaited key U.S. labour market data due this week that could shape expectations for Federal Reserve monetary policy. Traders will be focused on jobs and inflation data for August that is due before the Fed’s September 15-16 meeting for clues on whether a hike is likely. Reuters’ median economist estimate sees U.S. employers adding 55,000 jobs in August. AUD/USD: The Australian dollar held steady on Tuesday as investors focus shifted to upcoming Australian and US economic releases and the Reserve Bank of Australia’s (RBA) policy stance.Markets will focus on upcoming Australian economic data. Australia’s Q2 current-account figures are due Tuesday, followed by Q2 real GDP on Wednesday, with economists expecting quarterly growth of around 0.3%.Key U.S. data this week include job openings, the ADP employment report and nonfarm payrolls ?data that will be scrutinised for clues on labour market health and the interest rate outlook.Markets now imply a 54% chance the Reserve Bank of Australia will hike rates a quarter point to 4.60% at its meeting on September 29, compared with just 10% a week earlier. Spot gold was down 0.4% at $4,428.54 per ounce by 0432 GMT, after hitting its lowest level since August 19 ?in the previous session.
Oil prices rose on Tuesday as renewed U.S.-Iran fighting revived concerns over supply disruptions from the key Middle East oil-producing region.
Brent crude futures were up 66 cents, or 0.7%, to $91.15 a barrel at 0640 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was up 70 cents, or 0.8%, to $86.46.
