EUR/USD : The euro edged lower against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday as investors parsed Washington's expanded sanctions against Iran. On Monday, the Trump administration warned countries to cut their business ties with Iran or face secondary sanctions as part of what it billed as an "economic D-Day," while Iran vowed to retaliate. Meanwhile, investors were also awaiting Warsh's speech at the annual Jackson Hole conference on Friday for greater clarity on the Fed's outlook after a dearth of recent commentary.  .The euro was down roughly 0.1% at $1.1655, on track for a third day of decline after hitting a three-month peak last week. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.1689(SMA20), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.1733(38.2%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.1649(38.2%fib), a break below could take the pair towards 1.1581(50%fib).

GBP/USD:   The British pound edged lower against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday as investor focus shifted to upcoming U.S. inflation data and a speech later this week by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.Fed Chairman Warsh's debut speech at the annual Jackson Hole conference this week has taken on added weight as traders and analysts look for guidance about the recent jump in bond yields and for reassurance of his independence from the Trump administration.The U.S. Personal Consumption Expenditures report, the Fed's preferred inflation gauge, is due on Wednesday.On the geopolitical front, Iran promised to retaliate against expanded U.S. economic sanctions that Washington said would cut off Tehran's economic lifeline. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.3685(23.6%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.3716(Higher BB).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.3624(Daily low), a break below could take the pair towards1.3531(38.2%fib).

 AUD/USD: The Australian dollar steadied on Tuesday as investors digested details from the central bank's last policy meeting.RBA’s August minutes showed board members felt the 4.35% cash rate was helping lower inflation and allowed “some time” to assess the economy.The board unanimously kept rates unchanged after considering a fourth hike this year, while stressing that incoming data must show further progress toward its 2%-3% inflation target.Several members saw a possible need for further tightening if inflation risks materialise, while others noted downside risks could offset those pressures, the minutes showed.Australia’s July CPI is due Wednesday and will be a key test for RBA rate expectations. A stronger-than-expected inflation reading could reinforce bets on another rate hike and support the Australian dollar.Immediate resistance can be seen at 0.7178(Higher BB), an upside break can trigger rise towards 0.7201(23.6%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 0.7093 (38.2%fib), a break below could take the pair towards 07054(SMA 20)

USD/JPY:  The U.S. dollar higher  on Tuesday as dollar recovered as investors shifted their focus to upcoming U.S. inflation data and Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s speech later this week.On the geopolitical front, Iran promised to retaliate against expanded U.S. economic sanctions ?that Washington said would cut off Tehran's economic lifeline.Former BoJ board member Seiji Adachi said the central bank could hike rates next month and again as early as January, warning that a pause may weaken the yen and worsen import-driven inflation.Traders are assigning a roughly 80% probability of a rate hike when the board delivers its next policy decision on Sept. 18.. Immediate resistance can be seen at 159.21(SMA 20), an upside break can trigger rise towards 160.00(Psychological level).On the downside, immediate support is seen at  158.60(Daily  low) a break below could take the pair towards 156.16 (Daily  low).

Asian stocks fell on Tuesday after a selloff in U.S. technology shares, as investors turned cautious ahead of Nvidia’s earnings and assessed Washington’s latest pressure on Iran.

 Hang Seng  was down by 0.03% ,   KOSPI was up at  0.68%, China A50 was down  at 0.37 %

Commodities Recap

Gold prices held firm near a three-month peak on Tuesday as markets awaited fresh U.S. inflation figures and comments from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh later this week.

Spot gold steadied at $4,645.67 per ounce by 0651 GMT, after scaling ?its highest since May 14 earlier. U.S. gold futures rose 0.1% to $4,702.00.

Oil prices extended losses on Tuesday after falling more than 2% in the previous session, as investors largely shrugged off the impact of fresh U.S. sanctions on Iran.

Brent crude futures fell 90 cents, or 1.0%, to $91.27 a barrel by 0630 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was down 76 cents, or 0.9%, at $84.25.
