EUR/USD : The euro strengthened  on Thursday as  dollar weakened as investors assessed key economic data from the U.S. Data on Thursday showed the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index increased 3.7% in the 12 months through June after advancing by an unrevised 4.1% in May, which was the largest gain since April 2023, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis said. The increase in PCE inflation was in line with economists' expectations.Separately, data showed U.S. economic growth slowed in the second quarter amid a widening in the trade deficit. Gross domestic product increased at a 1.5% annualized rate last quarter, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis said in its advance estimate of second-quarter GDP. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast GDP rising at a 2.1% pace. Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.1532(50%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.14616(61.8%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.1440(38.2%fib), a break below could take the pair towards 1.1332(23.6%fib).

GBP/USD  : Sterling rose  against the dollar on Thursday   as investors digested  Bank of England interest rate  decision and assessed soft US economic data. U.S. economic growth slowed in the second quarter, while the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure, the PCE Price Index, matched market expectations, offering fresh insight into the outlook for U.S. monetary policy. The Bank of England left interest rates unchanged on Thursday as expected, though a third policymaker voted for a rate hike amid renewed tensions between the United States and Iran. The Monetary Policy Committee voted 6-3 to keep interest rates unchanged at 3.75%, compared with economists' expectations for a 7-2 vote split in favor of holding rates.Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.3476(38.2%fib), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.3550(23.6%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.3413(50%fib), a break below could take the pair towards1.3353(61.8%fib).

USD/CAD: The Canadian dollar climbed to a six-week high against its U.S. counterpart on Thursday as broad-based weakness in the U.S. dollar lifted the currency following the Federal Reserve's decision to leave interest rates unchanged. The greenback also came under pressure as speculation of Japanese currency intervention boosted the yen, while investors questioned whether the Fed's new Chair, Kevin Warsh, would remain committed to tackling inflation. Meanwhile, oil prices, a key driver for the commodity-linked Canadian dollar, slipped 0.3% to $84.22 a barrel as markets assessed Saudi Arabia-led plans to strengthen maritime security in the Red Sea. Against this backdrop, the loonie rose 0.4% to 1.4012 per U.S. dollar   its strongest intraday level since June 17.Immediate resistance can be seen at 1.4068(Daily high), an upside break can trigger rise towards 1.4099(38.2%fib).On the downside, immediate support is seen at 1.3993 (50%fib), a break below could take the pair towards 1.3949(Lower BB).

The central bank is widely expected to keep policy steady and signal its resolve to continue pushing up borrowing costs, as mounting price pressures from the weak yen and Middle East conflict risk driving underlying inflation above its target.
